Step 4. check In & Procedure

Touch Down, check In, and Procedure

A staffmember will be waiting for you at the airport when you arrive. We will accompany you to your hotel and make sure that check-in goes smoothly. Then, we will give you a folder, including a final itinerary and a variety of medical documents for you to review. You will need to sign these documents and return them to us on the day of your procedure. We will also give you a cell phone for use during the entirety of your trip, so that SurgeryBA and emergency assistance is always within reach.

On your second day, you will have your pre-surgical analysis-blood work and any additional imaging tests depending on your scheduled procedures. Following these tests, you will meet your surgeon, have the opportunity to get acquainted and ask questions. At this time, the doctor will give you instructions for preparing for their upcoming surgery and will confirm which procedures will be performed.

You and your surgeon will discuss the procedures that will best achieve your goals. It is possible that together you may choose to add or remove a medical procedure from your itinerary. There are a number of reasons why patients and their surgeons decide to adjust the schedule of medical procedures. First, upon meeting you in person, your surgeon may suggest a different combination of procedures that will optimize results. Second, patients sometimes decide to add medical procedures to their itinerary after they establish a rapport with the physician and gain trust in their medical team. Third, the blood work may reveal that you have certain medical conditions of which you were not previously aware which will affect the safety and efficacy of the selected medical procedures. The total cost of your medical package will be adjusted to account for such changes.

On the day of your surgery, one of our staffmembers will pick you up at your hoteland accompany you to the surgery center and assist you in filling out all of the administrative paperwork. At this time, we will collect the signed medical documents that were included in the information packet you received on the first day.
